A slim tuna instantly known by its extremely long, sabre-like pectoral fins and pale flesh, ranging the open Mediterranean in fast schools. It is a strong, deep-running fighter that occurs offshore of the Egyptian coast.

Albacore is the only tuna whose pale flesh may be legally sold as 'white tuna' in canned form.
