Blue Runner
الميرة / الجراية الزرقاء
Mira / al-Garaya al-Zarqa
The blue runner ('Mira') is a fast, restless little jack famous in Egyptian waters — especially among Alexandria's anglers. Its streamlined body makes it lightning-quick: silver-white with a blue sheen along the back. Yellow-tailed individuals get their own local name, 'Khifaf'. A lively light-tackle target that hits small lures hard.
