We had no idea what we were doing.So we built the thing we needed.

ReefPin started after a bad day on the Mediterranean coast. Two friends, too much gear, and no clear idea where the fish were or how to begin.

ReefPin is a recreational fishing app for Egypt. It covers the Red Sea, Mediterranean, Gulf of Suez, Nile and Lake Nasser with 178 fishing spots, live sea conditions per coast, 168 species, fishing techniques, AI fish identification, a catch logbook and an angler community. The complete interface is available in English and Egyptian Arabic.

ReefPin is not a marine chart plotter, nautical charting product or private GPS waypoint manager for divers. It is a consumer fishing companion.

The story

The morning trip

Two friends, a cooler and enough tackle to confuse the shop owner, but no clear plan for using any of it.

Finding a spot

Hours on Google Maps and several conflicting answers. We reached the water excited, lost and underprepared.

The technique problem

Several tutorials, an argument about sinker weights and a bent hook later, we were fishing. Sort of. The fish disagreed.

Every catch, spot and answer makes ReefPin sharper. Women's safety observations only appear as recent grouped information, and a badge needs at least three reports, 75% support and no open concern. This is community guidance, not a safety guarantee.
