A small, jewel-like stingray with a greenish-brown disc scattered with electric-blue spots and a blue-striped tail. One of the most photographed reef inhabitants in Egypt, it shelters under coral ledges by day and forages over sand flats at high tide.
This is a protected or non-target species — please don't fish for it. If it's accidentally hooked, release it quickly and unharmed.
