An elegant, big-eyed shark whose enormous scythe-like upper tail lobe can be as long as its body. It uses this tail like a whip to stun schooling fish, and it is occasionally seen in the deep blue water of Egypt's offshore Red Sea reefs.
This is a protected or non-target species — please don't fish for it. If it's accidentally hooked, release it quickly and unharmed.
