A slender, sluggish reef shark with a blunt head and bright white tips on its dorsal and tail fins. Unusually for sharks it can rest motionless on the seabed, and by day it is often found tucked under coral ledges and in caves throughout the Red Sea.
This is a protected or non-target species — please don't fish for it. If it's accidentally hooked, release it quickly and unharmed.

Docile and rarely aggressive toward divers, but avoid disturbing resting individuals or cornering them in caves.

Unlike most sharks it can pump water over its gills while stationary, so it spends much of the day lying still in caves.
