The classic for monofilament line. Proven millions of times for hooks and swivels — but not ideal for braid.

When to use it

  • ·Hooks on mono leader
  • ·Swivels on main line (mono/fluorocarbon)
  • ·Small to medium lures

Step by step

  1. 1Pass the line through the eye, leaving about 15 cm of tag end
  2. 2Wrap the tag end around the standing line 5–7 times
  3. 3Pass the tag end through the small loop right at the eye
  4. 4Then bring it back through the big loop
  5. 5Wet, tighten slowly, trim the tag end short

Pro tip

This knot slips on braided line — use the Palomar or Uni knot instead.
