Rapala Loop Knot

Medium

Loops · Line strength ~85%

A fixed loop in front of the lure: plugs, jerkbaits and jigs swim free and natural — noticeably more bites than with a tight knot.

When to use it

  • ·Plugs & jerkbaits (free action)
  • ·Stickbaits when popping
  • ·Jigs that should flutter naturally

Step by step

  1. 1Tie an overhand knot in the line about 15 cm from the end
  2. 2Pass the tag end through the lure eye and back through the overhand knot
  3. 3Wrap the tag end around the standing line 3 times
  4. 4Pass the tag end through the overhand knot again
  5. 5Bring it back through the loop you just formed
  6. 6Wet and tighten carefully — the loop stays open

Pro tip

Keep the loop small (5–8 mm) — big loops foul on the treble hook.
